A 2 days Seminar on Conservation of water bodies in Kamrup (M) and its adjacent areas was organized under Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MOEFCC), GoI at SimantaSankarDev Kristi Kendra, Guwahati with a participants of 30 nos attending the seminar. Special Resource persons were invited to deliver talk on specific topics.

Community Action for Health is a key strategy of the National Health Mission (NHM), which places people at the centre of the process to ensure their health needs and rights are being fulfilled. It allows them to monitor the progress of the NHM interventions regularly in their areas resulting in active community participation and contribution towards strengthening health services.

The project was implemented from 10 Feb, 2016 in 13 Districts of Assam namely :
Zone 6 - Kamrup(M) & (R), Morigaon, Nagaon,
Zone 4 - Golaghat, Jorhat, KarbiAnglong, Sonitpur,
Zone 3 - Goalpara, Baksa, Nalbari, Udalguri, Darang.
Zone 3 – 22 Blocks
Zone 4 – 27 Blocks
Zone 6 – 27 Blocks
40 VHSNC’s were selected under Each Block in which the above mention activities were carried out.
Special focus was given on key issues like :
7 villages are selected in Majuli as a cluster namely Garmur, Chitadarchuk, Phutuki, Khonachuk, Kerelagaon, Chamuguri. Mohkina.250 artisans are covered under the project & 3 products were selected namely Handloom Items, Cane & Bamboo items, Ethnic Mask.

NaiRoshni, a leadership Development Program for Minority Women under Ministry of Minority Affairs, GOI.
The objective of the scheme is to empower is to empower minority women by providing knowledge, tools
and techniques for interacting with Government systems, bank and other institutions at all levels.
The effort would embolden minority women to move out of the confines of their home and community and assume leadership roles and assert their, collectively or individually in accessing service, facilities, Skills and Opportunities besides claiming their due share of development benefits of the Government for improving their lives and living conditions.
NaiRoshniprogramme includes various training modules like
An awareness program for artisans was organized at RWUAA training Institute, Ketri in support of Export Promotion Council and DC (H), MoTex, GoI.A 50 nos of beneficiaries participated in the program
Key topics addressed were
A study on community based low cost technology solution for providing clean & safe drinking water to arsenic exposed population of Majuli (the biggest inhabited river island) &Kamrup (metro) district in support of National Institute for Advance Studies (NIAS), Banglore, Ministry of Science & Technology.

3 villages in the 2 Districts were taken/selected as the water in these villages are most Arsenic and Fluoride contaminated.
Upgrading the Skills and Training in Traditional Arts/Crafts for Development (USTAAD) is a initiative of Ministry of Minority Affairs. The project has been started in the Mukalmuwa Block, Nalbari District. Each year 300 nos of artisans will be trained on Embroidery along with computer and behavioral skills.
